Reuse of Metal Substrates

Frequently metal substrates used with functional coatings last much longer than their coated layers. At KB, we don’t scrap these substrates; we have found an economical method to reuse them. KB Roller Tech ensures this by applying one of the most environmentally friendly methods available:

High Pressure Waterjet

A number of coating materials are excellent candidates for high pressure waterjet stripping. The rotational substrates such as roller cores keep their original surface structure when stripped of their coatings. The advantages are:

• Metal subtrate stays intact
• Saves resources
• Avoids toxic steam
• Avoids heat-related stress and strain on the substrate
• Avoids burrs

The stripped substrate can then be re-coated without compromised quality, just like a new part.
